An estimated $150,000 worth of fentanyl was found by police in Calgary during an investigation. The confiscation was made on February 6 while the Calgary organized crime squad of Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) searched a residence in the Beltline neighbourhood. A car stop close to the suspect's residence resulted in the arrest of the alleged fentanyl distributor. His car was also searched by police. Police confiscated $17,550 in cash, 49 grams of suspected benzodiazepines, which are used as fentanyl polishing agents, and 1,547 grams of fentanyl. Bolutife Opeodu, 29, was charged with both possessing the profits of crime and possessing drugs with the intent to traffic.
