PRESS RELEASE The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) management would like to warn the public about the false information circulating that the Nigerian Army has closed off the Commission's facilities. The general public, in particular the electorate, is hereby advised to ignore the false information because the Commission's premises are extremely safe and secure, as demonstrated by the large number of interagency security personnel, including the Vigilante, Amotekun Corps, DSS, NSCDC, NDLEA, and police. We applaud the security authorities for ensuring that the personnel, infrastructure, and election supplies at OSSIEC are adequately secured. We would also want to mention that the fake news was propaganda created by few criminals to mislead and should not be taken seriously since it could incite fear among voters. As a result, no false information should prevent the good people of Osun State from taking part in the democratic process. We now guarantee them that the election will take place as planned.
