A suspected attack by internet fraudsters,  popularly known as Yahoo boys, has  left an officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)  dead and another  seriously injured in Onitsha,  Anambra.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred on Friday morning when  operatives of the EFCC from the Enugu  Zonal Headquarters attempted to  arrest a group of cybercrime  suspects.
The deceased officer, an  Assistant Superintendent who had  just completed a  promotion examination, lost his life during the operation. His colleague  was seriously injured in the  ambush.Not a valid attachment ID.
Confirming the development, the  spokesman of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that investigation was  ongoing. "Investigation into  this sad incident is ongoing. The suspect is in  custody and the firearm has been recovered. Further details  will be communicated,  please," Ikenga said.
