As 100,000 PROTEST €3B CUTS TO SOCIAL BENEFITS, BELGIO SHUTS DOWN. The biggest labour unions in Belgium began a 24-hour nationwide walkout today in protest of proposed pension and benefit cuts of €3 billion. With only one out of three trains operating, 70% of flights cancelled, and the city centre of Brussels shut, public transportation is at a complete stop. The cuts, which aim to enhance military budget, were proposed by right-wing PM contender Bart De Wever and have caused significant outcry. Source: Sputnik, UNN
