"A low dollar is not something to be proud of. It's another indication that people throughout the world are less inclined to retain Canadian dollars. We are not as bad off as nations with collapsing currencies, like Brazil, where the rial has dropped 25% in the last two years, or Turkey, whose lira has fallen 45% in the last two years. We're more like slow-growth Euroland and Australia, which had their currencies depreciate versus the U.S. dollar by 5.3 and 8.3 per cent, respectively, in 2024." Opinion: financialpost.com/jack-m
