"I said I would be happy to help improve the efficiency of government, which I believe is  absolutely necessary. We have a giant government  bureaucracy. We have excessive  regulation. You have agencies with overlapping  responsibilities. There are almost no government  agencies in Canada. That's why we keep creating new  forums. And we're getting to the point where almost everything is  illegal. There is nothing more we can  do. This has a real cost to  people. These are hidden costs, but  they are very significant.  It is very difficult to build new housing if  we are faced with massive  requests that  do not make sense.
This  increases the cost of housing and  generally slows down new housing  starts. We should let  Canadian manufacturers build it. »
