Police investigate pedestrian collision

Our Traffic  Unit continues to investigate a collision in a  Southwest parking lot  that left a woman  seriously injured.

At approximately 10:20  a.m. today, Tuesday,  December 24, 2024, a  serious collision occurred between a car and a pedestrian in the Sobeys parking lot located at 555 Strathcona Blvd. S.W.
At the time, a 2007 Honda Civic  driven by a  50-year-old woman was  believed to be traveling south in the parking lot near the  store's main entrance when the driver made a sharp left turn into  an alley, striking  the woman. in her  90s.
The pedestrian suffered  serious injuries and was  taken to  the hospital. The driver was  not injured and remained at the  scene.
Alcohol, speed or drugs  do not appear to be factors in this  crash.
