A warm and brown Christmas forecast across southern Alberta

Daytime highs continue to exceed seasonal norms  as Christmas approaches, with overnight lows forecast to be  9 to 12 degrees above  average.

Westerly winds  caused temperatures  to rise by nearly 10°C in parts of southern Alberta on Monday, and this  trend is expected to continue  on Tuesday, with a slight  southerly influence.

Light and scattered  showers are possible  in northern and central Alberta overnight Monday, and in some communities  freezing rain could fall and create poor driving  conditions.

Calgary is  unlikely to see  any more snow  before the end of the  weekend, when a  change in weather  patterns will bring temperatures  down across the  region.
However, highs and  lows are expected to remain above seasonal  norms for at least a week.
