Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has hired Edmonton Police Chief Dale McFee  as her new  chief of police.
Starting next year, McFee  will be deputy minister of  the executive council and head of  Alberta's public service.
He has been the  capital's police chief since 2019 and has also  held leadership positions with the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and the Canadian Police  Association.Not a valid attachment ID.
McFee was sworn in as Edmonton's 23rd  police chief on  February 1,  2019. His last day with EPS will be Friday,  February 21, 2025. His  employment with the Alberta government  will begin the following Monday,  February 24.

Smith says  he has worked with McFee on a number of government initiatives and  that he will bring a fresh perspective to the  office. McFee says  he is deeply committed to the province and  wants to  bring positive change  to public service and for all Albertans.
