One individual in North York is badly hurt in a daylight shooting.

Following a gunshot in North York during the day, paramedics in Toronto report that one victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Shortly after 12 p.m., gunfire erupted along Sheppard Avenue East, near the intersection of Yonge Street and Bogert Avenue (opens in a new tab).

One individual was sent to the hospital via emergency run after being discovered at the site with gunshot wounds, according to the police.

Due to the police inquiry, the area's roads are closed.
