Same weapon, different enemy: The PNP accuses Badoy and Quiboloy's attorney of sedition.


Philippines' Manila The lawyer representing Apollo Quiboloy, Israelito Torreon, and former anti-insurgency spokesperson Lorraine Badoy have been charged with sedition and inciting to sedition by the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP CIDG).

On Thursday, October 17, the complaint against Torreon, Badoy, and others was filed at the Department of Justice (DOJ) under the direction of Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, the head of the CIDG. The following are the remaining responders:

According to Marie Dinah Fuentes Torre, Quiboloy, who is accused of abuse and trafficking, was arrested for months during which the respondents either committed or incited rebellion.

According to the Revised Penal Code, individuals commit sedition.who, among other things, rise "publicly and tumultuously" to stop the government from carrying out its duties. Conversely, inciting to sedition occurs when someone "should incite others to the accomplishment of any of the acts which constitute sedition, without taking any direct part in the crime of sedition."
