Thick black smoke from a fire at a recycling plant in the Edmonton

A significant fire occurred at a recycling plant in Strathcona County early Saturday morning, generating a large plume of flames and dense black smoke visible throughout much of Edmonton.

Firefighters worked to manage the situation, with crews from Edmonton Fire Rescue assisting local firefighters in combating the blaze. Strathcona County Mayor Rod Frank stated that there was no threat to public safety as the fire had been contained. Nonetheless, onlookers were advised to maintain distance due to the potentially harmful nature of the thick black smoke.
