This facility serves as more than just a building; it provides support for individuals dealing with addiction and working to improve their lives. It is not helpful to leave people to suffer, and through Alberta's Recovery Model, real, long-term care is being made available to every Albertan facing this challenge.

This milestone, the opening of the 4th recovery community in Calgary, reflects the commitment to each individual who chooses recovery over difficulties, and it supports the view that recovery is possible when appropriate resources are in place. In Alberta, action is taken to provide practical help.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, reconnect with their community, and rediscover their purpose. Individuals in Alberta struggling with addiction deserve help to recover and rebuild, leading to a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. The official opening of the Calgary Recovery Community represents an expansion of the network, which is already established in Lethbridge, Red Deer, Edmonton, and is a step toward the goal of establishing eleven recovery communities across Alberta by 2027. With this new space, hundreds of Albertans each year will have the opportunity to rebuild their lives, reconnect with their communities, and discover their purposes. The government has taken a necessary step to address the systemic issues of addiction disorders and their collateral damage, which is an important initiative. Thank you.
