The United States has approved a potential arms sale to Nigeria valued at $346 million, which includes munitions, bombs, rockets, and related support.

The package comprises 1,002 MK-82 (500-lb) general-purpose bombs, 1,002 MXU-650 air foil groups for 500-lb Paveway II GBU-12 bombs, 515 MXU-1006 air foil groups for 250-lb Paveway II GBU-58 bombs, 1,517 MAU-169/MAU-209 computer control groups for Paveway II munitions, 1,002 FMU-152 joint programmable fuzes, and 5,000 APKWS II guided rockets, each equipped with a WGU-59/B guidance section, high-explosive warhead, and MK-66-4 rocket motor.

Additionally, the agreement includes bomb fuzes, rocket parts, training rounds, impulse cartridges, and integration support. Major U.S. defense companies, such as Lockheed Martin, RTX Missiles and Defense, and BAE Systems, are anticipated to handle the contracts.
