Yellowhead RCMP Respond to Fatal Shooting, Suspect Identified

The Yellowhead RCMP, in collaboration with Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services, has been investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on July 28, 2025, at approximately 2:45 am, on Keeseekoowenin First Nation, Manitoba. As a result of their ongoing efforts, a suspect has been identified and is now wanted on multiple charges.

Frank La Forge, a 52-year-old male from Keeseekoowenin First Nation, is currently being sought by authorities for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting. He is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder. La Forge is described as 5'8" tall, weighing approximately 150 lbs, with brown eyes and a bald head. The public is warned not to approach him if seen, and instead, call 9-1-1 immediately. Investigators believe La Forge is currently in the Yellowhead area of Manitoba, with connections to the Kamsack and Yorkton areas of Saskatchewan.

On the morning of the incident, officers responded to a report of a possible shooting at a residence on Keeseekoowenin First Nation. Upon arrival, they found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of officers and Emergency Medical Services, a 33-year-old female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 26-year-old male victim was treated and transported to hospital in serious condition, but has since been released.

The investigation has led authorities to believe that the incident was targeted, and there is no danger or threat to the public. However, the Yellowhead RCMP and Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services continue to investigate to determine if there are other suspects involved.
