Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, announced that the recently passed Osun Electricity Regulatory Commission bill by the Osun House of Assembly will put an end to consumer exploitation in the state once it is signed into law.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, on Tuesday in Osogbo, Adeleke declared that the days of residents being exploited and oppressed by officials of electricity distribution companies in the state are over. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the assembly passed the bill on Monday, establishing an electricity regulatory commission in the state. The "Osun State Electricity Market Regulatory Bill 2025" was approved during its third reading at a plenary session in Osogbo. The governor hailed the bill as a significant instrument for enhancing and advancing the state's economy.
