As we stand at the forefront of a new economic era, I am proud to declare that British Columbia will be the engine driving Canada's growth, propelled by clean energy and in partnership with First Nations. This is a bold commitment to our future, one that starkly contrasts with the recent sentiments expressed by President Trump, who declared that windmills are "killing us" and vowed to halt their construction in the United States.

To clean energy producers in America, I extend an open invitation: come to British Columbia, where we welcome innovation and progress. Together, we can tackle the pressing issue of climate change while fostering economic development. Today, I am announcing a second call for power, which will yield an additional 5,000 gigawatts of clean energy, enough to power 500,000 homes and major industrial projects across our province. This initiative will serve as an economic driver in every corner of British Columbia, creating opportunities and growth for communities throughout our beautiful province.

Our commitment to clean energy is rooted in two fundamental principles: first, our determination to grow our economy, leveraging our advantages and supporting industries where we excel; and second, our recognition of the urgent need to address climate change. We understand that we have a crucial role to play in reducing emissions and promoting clean electricity, and we are dedicated to driving down emissions while powering our economy forward.

In contrast to President Trump's stance, we embrace windmills and other clean energy sources, recognizing their potential to generate electricity without compromising our environment. Let this be a beacon of hope to clean energy producers in the United States: British Columbia is open for business, and we invite you to join us on this path to a sustainable and prosperous future.
