"Exploring the Future of Sustainable Potato Production: Highlights from the 2023 PSA Summer Symposium

Last week, the Potato Sustainability Alliance (PSA) convened at the Harrington Research Farm in Prince Edward Island, a hub for Canada's thriving potato industry. During the 2023 PSA Summer Symposium, our team of scientists welcomed 45 attendees for an in-depth exploration of innovative research initiatives.

Through interactive field tours and engaging presentations, researchers showcased groundbreaking projects aimed at breeding sustainable potato varieties, harnessing advanced genetics for pest and disease management, and optimizing soil health and water conservation practices through Living Lab PEI. A particular highlight was the demonstration of the pioneering 'weed zapper' technology, which leverages electricity to eradicate weeds.
