The Manitoba RCMP is pleased to announce that the evacuations of South Indian Lake, Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, and Kitiganwacheeng (Garden Hill First Nation) are currently underway, with officers providing assistance to ensure the safe relocation of community members. In addition, the evacuations of Lynn Lake, Snow Lake, Leaf Rapids, Granville Lake, and Mathias Colomb Cree Nation have been successfully completed.

To ensure the security of homes and properties, RCMP officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel remain in these communities, maintaining road closures and roadblocks. We appreciate the cooperation of all residents in the affected areas and thank them for their understanding during this challenging time.

It is heartening to see communities across the Province opening their doors to welcome evacuees, demonstrating the strength of Manitobans' willingness to help those in need. As we work together to navigate these unprecedented wildfires, we urge everyone to remain respectful, considerate, and patient.

We extend our gratitude to all who have stepped up to provide assistance and support to those who need it most. To those who reside in the affected areas, we kindly request that you continue to abide by the evacuation orders.

As traffic volumes increase, motorists are advised to drive with caution and be prepared for potential delays. If you encounter a checkpoint, please be patient and follow the instructions of the officers on scene. For updates on road closures in the wildfire zones, please visit the Manitoba 511 website at https://www.manitoba511.ca.

Let's continue to work together to ensure everyone's safety during this difficult time.
