On Saturday, Abubakar shared his thoughts on his official X (formerly Twitter) account following a meeting with a group of stakeholders from Gombe State, led by former Minister and Senator Idris Abdullahi. "Yesterday, I promised to resist election theft and stand against poor governance," Abubakar remarked. He described the discussions with the Gombe delegation as a critical moment to reflect on the nation's governance direction and underline the urgent need for reform. "I emphasized that we've reached a breaking point; Nigerians should not have to endure hardship amidst the nation's abundant resources due to ineffective governance," he added. Abubakar expressed optimism regarding the collaboration of opposition parties united under the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition, which he believes aims to enhance governance results. In light of ongoing developments, he mentioned a court ruling seeking the removal of the interim ADC leadership led by Senator Mark. "The coalition of opposition leaders spearheaded by the ADC will diligently work towards enacting transformative change that will benefit our citizens," he stated. Addressing the interim leadership's structure, Abubakar noted its commitment to transparency. "The caliber of the interim leadership reflects our readiness to infuse integrity into the process and provide the responsible governance that Nigerians rightfully deserve," he asserted. He also welcomed the endorsement from the Gombe delegation, highlighting their alignment with the coalition's broader political vision. "I am further motivated by the Gombe stakeholders' vow of unwavering support and loyalty to the coalition's decision to join the ADC," he remarked. In closing, he recalled his political ties in Gombe State, noting his backing of Danjuma Goje's gubernatorial candidacy in 2003. According to Abubakar, the group recognized his previous contributions to the state's political evolution.
