The individuals, Pan Cai Qi, Zeng Xian Tao, Weng Mao Rong, Shi Dong Fu, and three others were found guilty by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi. The convictions follow a December 2024 operation named 'Eagle Flush' by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which resulted in the arrest of 792 suspects involved in cryptocurrency investment and romance fraud schemes. The Chinese nationals were part of this extensive syndicate that operated in Lagos. More details on the specific charges, sentences, and the operation itself are yet to be released. This case highlights the ongoing efforts by the EFCC to combat cybercrime and international fraud networks operating within Nigeria.
