Olukoyede, represented by Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Francis Jirbo, highlighted that collaborative efforts are crucial to overcoming the challenges posed by corruption and other forms of criminality in the country. The visit's theme was "Optimizing National Security Through a Whole of Society Approach," aiming to provide the officers with a practical understanding of the EFCC's role in maintaining national security.

ACE I Williams Oseghale, Head of the Media and Publicity Unit at the Benin Zonal Directorate, presented on the EFCC's history, successes, and challenges. He discussed the agency's mandate of investigating, prosecuting, and preventing economic and financial crimes, and highlighted significant achievements such as the conviction of high-profile individuals, the recovery of substantial assets, and the restoration of investor confidence.

Oseghale also touched on the challenges faced by the EFCC, including threats to officers, inadequate funding for prevention and sensitization programs, a slow judicial process, and public skepticism.

Ibrahim Boyi, the Head of the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML), informed the officers about the unit's role in monitoring and regulating Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) and Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) to combat money laundering and terrorism financing. He explained that FATF sets international standards for these efforts.

Navy Captain N. Lawali expressed his appreciation for the EFCC's engagement and acknowledged the value of inter-agency cooperation. He stated that the insights gained from the session would be instrumental in shaping the officers' training and understanding of the EFCC's contributions to national security.
