The ceremony recognized individuals who have demonstrated distinguished devotion to duty and outstanding achievement in their roles. The President emphasized the importance of civil servants, particularly those serving in rural and remote areas, and acknowledged their contributions during natural disasters and in the face of climate change challenges. He encouraged more nominations for those working outside of urban areas and reminded all civil servants of their pivotal role in the nation's development and service delivery. The recipients of the Civil Service Medals came from various government departments, including the Office of the Prime Minister, the Judicial Department, the Ministry of Finance and Strategic Development, and others. This recognition underscores the government's commitment to valuing and rewarding public service excellence in Fiji.
