🔍 The incident in question occurred on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the City Hall Plaza, 800 Macleod Tr. S.E., Calgary during the Naija Market Day. A light standard and TV screens setup for the outdoor event collapsed, resulting in eight injuries, with all victims being transported to the hospital.

The injuries are reported as non-life-threatening. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) is investigating the situation and has requested the public's assistance in gathering more information. Specifically, they are looking for photos and videos taken at the event, particularly of the equipment setup before the collapse and the moment of the collapse itself.
