Last week, Governor General Mostyn's Admiralty House was filled with the creativity and joy of emerging musical talent as it celebrated the 50th anniversary of @2mbsfinemusicsydney — a cherished fine music community radio station. 🎶

The 2MBS 2025 Artists in Residence, the Nexas Saxophone Quartet and the Liz Player Quartet, provided supporters, volunteers, and fine music enthusiasts with two exceptional performances.

The Governor-General expressed his pleasure in welcoming 2MBS to Admiralty House to acknowledge the significant impact they have made over the past fifty years — both in delivering fine music to the homes of Sydneysiders and in fostering and supporting emerging Australian musical talent.

Gratitude is extended to Simon Moore OAM, Chair of 2MBS; Julie Simonds, Classical Artist in Residence Coordinator; and the remarkable 2MBS team for facilitating this memorable evening.
