Microsoft has at last disclosed its long-awaited handheld console, many years after initial rumors surfaced.

The ROG Xbox Ally will enable gamers to access their Game Pass subscription library while on the move, effectively providing members with hundreds of games from the start.

This device is being developed in collaboration with Asus, a company that has been producing handheld gaming devices since 2023, and is set to launch at the end of 2025 - although the pricing details remain unclear.

Speculation regarding Microsoft's intention to create a handheld Xbox has persisted for over a decade, with the company initiating and abandoning several projects throughout the years.

Microsoft's announcement follows just three days after the debut of the Switch 2.
