Back-to-Back Wins for Daniel Coyle in The Mustangs CSI 5* at Spruce Meadows

Irish show jumper Daniel Coyle had a standout performance on Friday at The Continental CSI 5*, presented by Rolex, at Spruce Meadows. Following his victory in the $35,000 The Partners CSI 5* – 1.50m earlier in the day, Coyle went on to claim another win in the highly competitive €70,000 The Mustangs CSI 5* – 1.55m class.

The 1.55m track designed by FEI Course Designer Peter Grant (CAN) saw 16 horse and rider pairs advance to the jump-off. Among them, Coyle and his grey gelding, Incredible, managed to outpace the competition, delivering a faultless round in a swift 38.66 seconds. This secured their second victory of the day and cemented Coyle's status as one to watch at the prestigious event.

The second podium spot was claimed by Canadian rider Kara Chad, who had an impressive performance aboard Igor GPH. She stopped the clock at 39.10 seconds in the jump-off, a time that was only five-hundredths of a second slower than Coyle's. Matthew Sampson (GBR) rounded out the top three with his mount Ebolensky, posting a clear jump-off in 39.30 seconds.

Coyle expressed his delight at the results and praised Spruce Meadows for its continuous efforts to improve the venue. "It's an amazing job what they're doing here. They never stop making the place better. They put in new ring footing last year, and it's even better this year. I'm looking forward to the weekend, and we've had a great start," he said.

The competition was tight, but Coyle's strategic riding and Incredible's athleticism proved unbeatable. With the first two days of the event now complete, all eyes are on the Irish rider as the CSI 5* action unfolds over the weekend.
