The Emirs of Damaturu and Potiskum, located in Yobe State, have expressed their steadfast commitment to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its efforts to combat economic and financial crimes, as well as other societal issues within their regions.

The Emirs made this declaration in Damaturu and Potiskum while hosting the Maiduguri Zonal Director, Commander of the EFCC, CE Aisha A. T Habib, during her courtesy visits to the Emirates along with her management team.

Emir of Potiskum, Alhaji (Dr) Shehu Hashimi II Ibn Umar Al-Amin El-Kanemi, congratulated the Director and her team for the achievements attained in Damaturu and assured her of his support in the ongoing fight against corruption.

El-Kanemi further remarked, "The work of the EFCC is not an easy task, but your reward lies with our creator. Thus, I encourage you to persist in your efforts; the positive effects are recognized by the citizens."

The Royal father offered prayers for further successes in the battle against corruption and bestowed royal blessings upon the EFCC. "My doors are always open whenever the EFCC reaches out to us. You have my support; our doors are perpetually open for you," he stated.

During the visit to the Potiskum emirate, Emir Alh. Bubaram Ibn Wurma Bauya also pledged his support to the EFCC in fulfilling its mandate to combat corruption within the State.

Earlier, in her address, Habib urged the Emirs to collaborate in the fight against economic and financial crimes in their territories.

"Indeed, the mission of the EFCC and the traditional institution is to restore integrity to the system and the economy of the nation. We therefore seek your blessings, support, and prayers for the success of our endeavors," she stated.
