An unknown number of individuals have reportedly lost their lives due to a flood that inundated Mokwa town, Niger State. Although the specifics are still unclear, some residents estimate that as many as 50 people may have perished.

Numerous houses and properties valued in the millions of naira were submerged. Others have suggested that the death toll could surpass 50, as many residents, including women and children, remain unaccounted for.

A local resident, Mohammed Usman, stated that several bodies have already been retrieved from the water, but many others are still missing, particularly in areas where homes were entirely submerged.
