The Northwest coast of Tasmania is indeed a breathtaking place to start the day with a swim! Burnie Mayor Teeny Brumby's spontaneous invitation to the Governor-General reflects the welcoming and adventurous nature of the local community.

The early morning dip at the bluff with a group of dedicated local swimmers must have been an unforgettable experience. Wetsuits are quite handy in such chilly waters, ensuring comfort and safety while enjoying the natural beauty of the area. It's great to see public figures embracing local traditions and engaging with residents in such a personal and spirited way. The camaraderie and shared experience of braving the cold waters together surely created a lasting bond between the Mayor, the Governor-General, and the hardy swimmers of Devonport and Burnie.
