This pilot project aims to improve safety for patients, visitors, and healthcare providers by using artificial intelligence to identify potential weapons or dangerous items. The system is designed to be non-invasive and will be monitored by Paladin Security staff around the clock. If an item is flagged, further screening or bag searches may be conducted. The initiative is part of a larger effort to enhance safety measures in healthcare facilities, particularly in light of the increasing incidents of violence against nurses and other staff members. The pilot's success may lead to the expansion of this technology to other hospital entrances and sites across the Northern Zone and the province. The system will ensure that emergency care is not delayed for patients who require immediate attention.
