Sitiveni Rabuka, has met with the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs

The Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka, has met with the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong, and Australian Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Matt Thistlethwaite, in Suva. The discussion centered on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and their shared objectives in areas such as economic development, climate change resilience, regional security, and strengthening people-to-people connections through the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership.

Minister Wong emphasized Australia's commitment to collaborating with the Pacific region to achieve a peaceful, prosperous, and unified area, and praised Fiji's leadership in maintaining regional peace and unity. Prime Minister Rabuka acknowledged Australia's support for healthcare improvements in Fiji, particularly at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, which is a significant component of their joint development partnership plan.

The meeting also touched on Australia's assistance in Fiji's response to the HIV outbreak, showcasing the tangible outcomes of their collaboration.
