IDF strikes over 670 targets in Gaza — military
The Israeli military said it had struck "over 670 Hamas terror targets" in the Gaza Strip over the past week, including a "terror tunnel leading from Gaza to Israel."

The military said the latest strikes came as part of an "extensive" ground operation that began over the past day. It did not specify how many targets were hit in the ground operation or how many targets were struck on Sunday.

The operation involves "thousands of IDF soldiers, including reservists," the military added.

The announcement comes as the death toll from the week-long conflict continues to rise, with Gaza health officials saying nearly 100 bodies arrived at hospitals in the enclave on Sunday.

Gaza health officials: 96 bodies arrive at hospitals on Sunday
Palestinian health officials in the Gaza Strip reported on Sunday that 96 bodies had arrived at hospitals following a day of intense Israeli air strikes.

The new casualties brought the total number of Palestinians killed in the week-long conflict to more than 600.

The health officials said the bodies included those of 18 children and 11 women.

The IDF had said earlier on Sunday that it had launched a new ground operation in Gaza.

Israel open to 'ceasefire deal' — Netanyahu's office
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country was open to a deal to end the fighting in Gaza as negotiators from the two sides met in the Qatari capital Doha.

"The State of Israel is ready to reach a deal with the Palestinian Authority to bring calm to Gaza and avoid further bloodshed," a statement from Netanyahu's office read.

The statement added that the prime minister's negotiating team in Doha "is working to exhaust every possibility for a deal."

The two sides have been holding indirect talks mediated by Qatar and Egypt to reach a deal that would end the current round of fighting.

Egyptian mediators arrive in Israel for ceasefire talks
Egyptian mediators have arrived in Israel for talks aimed at securing a ceasefire between the Jewish state and the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, Egypt's state news agency MENA reported on Sunday.

The delegation, which includes intelligence officials and representatives of the UN and the US, will hold separate talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, according to the report.

The visit comes as both sides continue to exchange fire, with no immediate end to the week-long conflict in sight.

US envoy meets with Hamas officials in Doha
A US envoy has met with senior Hamas officials in Doha, the Qatari capital, as part of efforts to broker a ceasefire between the Islamist group and Israel, a Hamas official told the Reuters news agency.

The envoy, who was not named, discussed "the humanitarian situation and the truce" with the officials, the official said.

The meeting suggests that the US is willing to engage with Hamas, which it has designated as a terrorist organization and has historically shunned in diplomatic negotiations.

Palestinian health officials in the Gaza Strip said the death toll from the week-long conflict with Israel had risen to nearly 600 on Sunday, with 18 children and 11 women among the latest casualties.

The officials reported that 585 people have been killed since the start of the latest round of fighting, with more than 3,000 injured.
