The Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the death of one person and several others injured in a clash between farmers and herders in the Nangere Local Government Area. The incident reportedly started when a Fulani herder's cattle strayed onto a farm, leading to the destruction of crops. The owner of the farm, Babayo Maina, was injured after being shot with an arrow.

The situation escalated into a larger conflict, resulting in the death of Usman Mohammed, a 35-year-old villager from Chikuriwa. An unidentified number of people were also injured.

Security forces have intervened and are working to restore peace. They have summoned leaders from both communities for dialogue to prevent further clashes. Additionally, they have recovered two cows and twenty-nine goats and rams that were allegedly taken by the farmers from the herders.

The police have commenced an investigation to determine the extent of the damage and the individuals responsible for the violence. This is an ongoing issue in the region, as clashes over farmland and grazing rights have often led to fatalities and destruction of property. The authorities are urging residents to remain calm and allow the investigation to proceed.
