I was honored to join friends, colleagues, and leaders recently to pay tribute to Roy McMurtry and to help raise awareness and essential funds for the Toronto Lawyers Feed the Hungry Program. Roy McMurtry was an inspiring leader who devoted his career to promoting a fairer society. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he was also a gifted artist, leaving behind a remarkable collection of artwork. Thanks to the generous contributions from Hull & Hull LLP through the HeARTs for Hunger event, we were able to raise awareness and vital funds for one of the city's few year-round meal programs, which provides over 58,000 meals annually — a commendable commitment to improving life in Ontario. Roy's lasting influence was celebrated and reflected upon as we united to foster a more compassionate and supportive community for those living in or at risk of poverty.
