Recently, Canadians voted Mark Carney, the leader of the Liberal Party, as their new Prime Minister.

Although Carney is a newcomer to the political arena, he is highly regarded in international finance and climate advocacy, having previously led both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, as well as establishing the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ).

Canada is currently far from achieving its legally mandated target of net zero emissions by 2050 and has one of the highest per capita emissions rates globally.
