The Governor-General and Mr. Beckett SC received a warm reception at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque :'( in Abu Dhabi, a stunning place of worship that welcomes individuals from all faiths and backgrounds. This impressive project was initiated by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE's Founding Father, with the intention of creating a symbol of tolerance and unity, developed through a collaborative international effort.

The mosque's design was spearheaded by a Syrian architect, and its main prayer hall showcases the largest hand-knotted carpet in the world, crafted by 1,300 Iranian women. Additionally, materials and expertise were sourced from over 30 countries. Her Excellency and Mr. Beckett SC felt privileged to experience the tranquility and beauty of this sacred site and to contemplate the significance of collective effort and cultural exchange during their visit to Sheikh Zayed's mausoleum, situated within the mosque grounds. They also learned about the mosque community's commendable Ramadan tradition of preparing and sharing meals with thousands each evening, extending hospitality to everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs.
