Today, Meara Conway, the Saskatchewan NDP Shadow Minister for Rural and Remote Health, inaugurated the Time to Deliver tour. Meara, who is anticipating the arrival of her third child, has embarked on this journey to emphasize the severe repercussions that the Saskatchewan Party's healthcare cuts have had on northern and rural communities.

According to data obtained through Freedom of Information requests, obstetrical departments in Saskatchewan were closed for over 500 days from August 2019 to May 2024. Additionally, emergency and acute care services throughout the province experienced closures totaling 3,966 days during the same timeframe. In recent years, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, MRI, CT, and surgical departments have also faced closures. The state of primary care is equally concerning. Ultimately, the Saskatchewan Party has relegated healthcare to a position of neglect. The Saskatchewan NDP envisions a future where every individual in Saskatchewan has access to dependable, high-quality healthcare whenever and wherever it is needed. Today, Meara is visiting Saskatoon, North Battleford (the Health Minister's constituency), Shellbrook (the Premier's constituency), and Prince Albert. More stops are planned in the coming days, and I will continue to provide updates here!
