CBN Challenges Court - Dismissed Chairmen, Emphasizes Adherence to Due Process Regarding Local Government Accounts

● Inquires about the status of a purported, non-existent Reinstatement Order

● Commercial Banks Reject Efforts to Freeze Local Government Accounts

The attempts by the court-dismissed Yes/No Chairmen to deceive the Central Bank of Nigeria into reopening council accounts and facilitating the deposit of council funds have proven unsuccessful.

Further efforts by these individuals across various council secretariats to freeze local government accounts in certain commercial banks and establish new ones were met with resistance from the banks, which questioned the authority under which such actions were taken.

The dismissed chairmen had secretly approached the apex bank with a request to open bank accounts for the purpose of depositing allocations for Osun local governments.

These unauthorized occupants of the secretariats referenced an alleged Court of Appeal ruling that they claimed reinstated them, using this as justification for their requests to open accounts.

In a clear indication of their apprehension that the CBN might expose their falsehoods, the dismissed chairmen neglected to provide a copy of the court order that supposedly reinstated them.

Instead, they only submitted an enrolled court order without mentioning the actual Federal High Court ruling that had dismissed them from their positions.

This omission indirectly acknowledged to the CBN that the judgment removing them is valid, and they failed to present any proof that this judgment had been overturned.

Moreover, the dismissed officials did not include the complete Court of Appeal ruling they claimed reinstated them as council chairmen.

Unbeknownst to them, the Apex Bank possesses comprehensive information regarding developments in Osun, including copies of all relevant judgments and ongoing legal matters concerning local government leadership.

In response to the impostors' letter, the apex bank inquired about the missing court order and the reason for its absence.

The dismissed chairmen have yet to reply to the CBN's inquiry, as they lack any court order to present.
