Cairo: Saudi Arabia has launched a  series of new digital services on a government platform for its citizens and expatriates to  improve the efficiency of its services to the  public.
New services available on the  Ministry of Interior's Absher app include uploading  employee photos  for passport issuance or  renewal, updating passport  details for foreign residents, and digital  identity consultation, which allows expatriates to  view their digital identity,  consult their details, and  submit them upon request to the relevant authorities in the  kingdom.
Other services  include the Saudi National Identity Card and updating educational qualifications  recorded in the Ministry of  Education's systems. As a result, the ID card can be  renewed and replaced in case of loss or damage, with the possibility  of taking a personal photo  through the  application, while the  Educational Qualifications Update service allows beneficiaries to register the document  in Absher.
The Directorate of Civil Affairs  at the Ministry of Interior explained that beneficiaries can  consult the procedures and requirements of the new services by  accessing their accounts on the Absher platform and  the application on  smartphones.
He said  that the  management continues to  offer digital services  through Absher to save time and effort,  simplify procedures, and improve the quality of its  services.
In 2013, the Saudi  Ministry of Interior launched the Absher app, which gives citizens and foreign residents access to a  range of government services.
