Student seriously injured in school bus rollover on Alberta highway:  RCMP

RCMP say a child is in hospital after a school bus  overturned on a  road east of  Edmonton on  Friday.
Officers were dispatched to  the scene of the crash on Highway 16 near Vegreville after  lunch.
There were two students and a driver on  board.

RCMP spokesman  Cpl Troy Savinkoff  said one student was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the other  suffered minor  scratches and  bruises. The bus driver  suffered minor  injuries.
Savinkoff said icy roads,  high winds and whiteout conditions  could have caused the bus to  crash into the  canal and  overturn.
RCMP are reminding drivers in central Alberta to  exercise caution as road conditions remain poor in some areas.
