3 IN 4 GERMANS BELIEVE FREE SPEECH IS BEING SURPRESSED

Three out of four Germans think that free speech is being suppressed.

According to a recent Insa survey, 74% of Germans think that the nation's free expression is being suppressed by fear of the repercussions. Self-censorship was shown to be widespread in the poll, particularly among young individuals and right-wing voters. The growing anxiety is exemplified by the story of the elderly who was raided after retweeting a meme criticizing Economy Minister Habeck. In a another instance, a lady who insulted Foreign Minister Baerbock online was fined €6,000.
