According to RCMP, 68 kilograms of cocaine valued at much to $6.8 million were found during a search after a police service dog conducted a "open-air sniff" around the car

Around 9:30 p.m. on October 23, an officer observed a pickup vehicle heading west on Highway 16 close to Hinton with some obvious equipment violations, according to RCMP Sgt. Darrin Turnbull.

There was a traffic halt.
"The officer saw signs during the traffic stop that would be important to him in terms of a drug investigation," Turnbull stated during a media briefing on Wednesday morning.
