NEW New York City Mayor Eric Adams appears

NEW: The American people have spoken, according to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who seems willing to follow Trump's proposal for mass deportations.

Adams also attacked a reporter who attempted to corner him on the subject of deportation.

Reporter: Will you bring up the issue of mass deportations with President-elect Trump?

Adams: The electorate spoke clearly and loudly. Our immigration system has to be overhauled because it is flawed. I only want to talk about that.

That dysfunctional system wreaked havoc on New York City.
