On Thursday night, a freight train in southwest Calgary collided with a pedestrian.

Just after 6:30 p.m., according to the police, the incident occurred close to the 1500 block of 10th Avenue S.W.Not a valid attachment ID.

A man with severe injuries was brought to the hospital.

According to YYC Transportation, local roads have been closed, and drivers are being asked to take other routes.

To look into those closures, police set them up.

Since then, the closures have been approved.

Red Line CTrains were also running behind schedule, according to Calgary Transit, which urged passengers to be patient.
