Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president, claimed that he had unknowingly had a 25% hearing loss at one point.

This was said by Obasanjo on Sunday in Bauchi during his homage to Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman-Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi.

He claims that a large number of people worldwide are deaf without realizing it until they undergo medical testing to determine their hearing ability.

The man requested for his permission to examine his ears after he said that he was overseas and had trouble hearing people well. He argued that there was nothing wrong with his ears.

According to Obasanjo, the clinical analysis revealed that he was 25% deaf.

"Once my results were announced, I had He remarked, "I asked the man to check on my Chief Security Officer as well, and to my surprise, he was more deaf than I was."

He said that the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation was founded as a result of this experience and that thousands of Nigerians have benefited from its ear treatments and distribution of hearing aids in collaboration with the Starkey Hearing Foundation.

The former president declared that he would begin the distribution of hearing aids to approximately 10,000 impoverished individuals in the Northeast, beginning with Bauchi State, where 2,000 people would gain from the program.
