A man has been sentenced to one month in prison for internet fraud in Lagos.

A man named Abraham Joseph Peter has been sentenced to one month in prison for internet fraud by Justice D.I. Dipeolu at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on August 27, 2025.

Peter was apprehended on July 7, 2025, during a sting operation at Cruizer Hotel in Ajegunle, Lagos, conducted by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This operation followed an intelligence report regarding the suspected involvement of several individuals in internet fraud at the hotel. He faced a one-count charge related to cybercrime during his arraignment.
