On June 24, 2025, a disturbing incident occurred in Mississauga, Ontario, putting the safety of our community at risk. An attempted kidnapping took place near Britannia Road West and Queen Street South, involving two young women who were targeted by three masked suspects.

The suspects, described as Middle Eastern males, aged late teens to mid-twenties, of medium build, attempted to lure the victims to a light-colored Audi SUV using a firearm and a knife. Fortunately, a passerby intervened, prompting the suspects to flee the scene. The victims, thankfully, did not sustain physical injuries.

Following a thorough investigation, Waleed Khan was arrested and charged with 33 offenses, including possession of loaded illegal firearms, high-capacity magazines, and 110 rounds of ammunition. Khan was previously on probation and has now been released again.

While one suspect has been apprehended, the remaining two suspects are still at large. It is crucial that the public remains vigilant and reports any information that may lead to their capture. If you spot the suspects or the suspect vehicle, a light-colored Audi SUV, do not approach them and call 911 immediately.

We urge everyone to exercise extreme caution and be aware of their surroundings, especially in the evenings. Parents, please remind your children to be cautious when walking alone, and encourage them to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

We are grateful for the bravery of the passerby who intervened and the swift action of our law enforcement officials. Together, we can ensure the safety and security of our community.

Kirk Lubimov.
