In a landmark move, Canada has forged a strategic partnership with Sweden's Swebor to significantly enhance Canadian content in armored vehicle production. This collaboration will pave the way for the domestic manufacturing of ballistic steel, ensuring a steady supply, creating skilled jobs, and bolstering both domestic and international defense programs.

This initiative positions Roshel, a Canadian company, as the first fully integrated armored vehicle manufacturer globally, consolidating design, engineering, steel production, and assembly within a single ecosystem. This integrated approach will enable Roshel to increase Canadian content in its platforms, thereby adding value to its Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) commitments for clients.

Roshel is currently involved in various programs in the armored vehicle sector, including domestic projects such as the Light Utility Vehicle (LUV) program and the Defence Arctic Mobility Enhancement (DAME) program, as well as several international contracts that require significant amounts of ballistic steel. With this new capability, Roshel will be able to meet the growing demand for high-quality armored vehicles, further solidifying Canada's position as a leader in the global defense industry.

This partnership not only bolsters Canada's defense capabilities but also creates new economic opportunities, contributing to the country's long-term growth and development. By investing in cutting-edge technologies and manufacturing capabilities, Canada is poised to emerge as a major player in the global armored vehicle market.
