Today, at a prestigious ceremony held at Government House, Newfoundland and Labrador took a moment to acknowledge the selfless dedication of its outstanding citizens. This morning's medal presentation ceremony was a testament to the province's commitment to recognizing the invaluable contributions of volunteers and public service members.

Four exceptional individuals were honored with the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers, presented on behalf of Her Excellency Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada. This esteemed award acknowledges their tireless efforts in making a positive impact in their respective communities.

Furthermore, one remarkable individual was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for their extraordinary contributions to public service. This prestigious recognition was bestowed upon the nominee based on the recommendation of The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, the 14th Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.
